Love Your Clothes calls for tonnes of help from people of Cardiff

Can you imagine what five tonnes of clothes looks like?

Love Your Clothes hopes Cardiff will soon find out as we challenge the city to collect a mountain of ‘pre-loved’ clothing for YMCA Cardiff, Age Cymru and other charities in Wales.

The challenge is part of ‘Love Your Clothes Cardiff’, coming to the capital on 24 – 29 October, in conjunction with Cardiff Fashion Week.

Every year in the UK 350,000 tonnes of clothing goes to landfill.  This doesn’t need to be the case, and if we all come together in Cardiff for just one week we can make a lasting impact – for the environment and a local charity.

Lots of us have unwanted or unworn clothes at the back of the wardrobe, so it’s really easy to get involved.  Just have a rummage, dig out all the clothes you have fallen out of love with, and donate them during Love Your Clothes week so we can find them a loving new home.

Where and when can I donate?

Drop your pre-loved items off at Plasnewydd Community Centre, (2 Shakespeare St, Roath) from Monday 24 to Friday 28 October between 5pm – 7:30pm, where there will be a giant shipping container waiting to be filled!

If you’re in the city centre there will be a smaller clothing donation point at the Love Your Clothes Pop-Up Shop in the Capitol Shopping Centre daily between 10am – 4pm throughout the week.
