Love Your Clothes is on a mission to keep clothes in use for longer, by helping us all feel more confident with a needle and thread!

Our exciting project – Habits for Life – has launched in the city of Leeds, with workshops and advice to show how easy it is to darn, hem, and button your way to repairing clothes and loving them for longer.

* Please note that you need to be a resident of Leeds or the surrounding area and over the age of 18 to attend our workshops. (Read our FAQs to find out more)
** We’ll be asking you to pay a £5 deposit, which will be fully refunded upon attendance.

Our Habits for Life workshops

Has a button fallen off your top? Got a hole in your favourite jumper? You’re not alone. Although many people are confident sewing on a new button, some are not so much when it comes to taking up a hem or mending a hole in our clothes.

Habits for Life will teach vital repair, sewing and customisation skills – the kind of thing your granny did during the war!

The best bit? All our workshops are free to attend!

Check our timetable of workshops and join us to show your clothes some TLC.

To book a place, choose a date above, and register!

For information on how businesses can support Habits for Life or how to become a Super Crafter, contact loveyourclothes@wrap.org.uk.

  1. Why are the free workshops for residents of Leeds and the surrounding area only?
Habits for Life is currently only running as a pilot project in Leeds. We’ll review the results of the Habits for Life pilot and decide whether to expand the project or our workshops into other cities. We’ll keep you in the loop!
  2. Why do I need to pay a £5 refundable deposit?
We’ll be asking you to pay a fully refundable £5 deposit. This is because spaces are limited, and we want to ensure that people who register commit to attend. It will be fully refunded upon attendance.

Excited for the workshops? In the meantime why not watch some of our videos or read our quick tips on how to extend the life of your clothing!

You can support the project using #HabitsForLifeLeeds on social media, and in the meantime, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as we gear up to a summer full of sewing and sustainability!

By providing your name, address, and contact information you give Love your Clothes/WRAP permission to send materials to you required for participating in the workshop, and you agree that we may contact you with questions about the workshop prior to and after it has taken place.
