University of South Wales is partnering with Love Your Clothes to highlight the amount of clothes that are thrown away and show how trash can be turned into treasure.

Every year in the UK we throw away 300,000 tonnes of clothes, that’s one tonne every two minutes.

Help us collect one tonne of clothes by donating items you no longer wear.

There will also be free Love Your Clothes workshops across campus to teach you how to upcycle your clothes.

And during Employability Week, students from USW Creative Industry courses will transform some of these clothes into design-led pieces.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • DONATE

Fallen out of love? It happens, but someone else will love what you don’t. Fill a bag with good quality clothes you no longer want and drop it off at one of the Love Your Clothes donation bins across campus. All of the clothes donated will go to Tŷ Hafan (apart from some items that will be transformed by students).

Drop off locations:

Cardiff: Library, The Street, Fashion hub (4th floor)
Treforest: Library, accommodation office, Brecon Block entrance, Students' Union
Newport: Library
Glyntaff: Library (lower Glyntaff), Alfred Russel Wallace building (Lounge area, ground floor)
